Its quite the race in the Canadian Football League's West Division.  Calgary Stampeders on top with a record of 8 wins and 1 loss while right behind the Saskatchewan RoughRiders and Edmonton Eskimos are at 7 wins 2 losses.
In the best game of the weekend…the RoughRiders defeated the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 35 - 30 with Darian Durant engineering a last minute drive that had Anthony Allen find the end zone.

Today     Calgary Stampeders 28 Edmonton Eskimos 13
Hamiton TigerCats 13  Toronto Argonauts 12
and Friday
Montreal Alouettes 20  Ottawa RedBlacks 10

Word out of Montreal today that the Alouettes have contacted or at least made it know that they are interested in Michael Sam.   The defensive tackle was cut by the St. Louis Cardinals.  Sam could wait around to see if another NFL team will sign him, go on the Rams practise roster or head north to play for the Alouettes.

It is exceptional to apply pressure on the opponent's quarterback…and he had at least one sack in every game of the NFL pre season.
And he moves quickly for a guy like him.  I think his style would suit the Canadian Football League…Jim Popp Montreal Alouettes General Manager on Michael Sam

"Kory did a great job for us last year and I know when we lost him there were a lot of people worried about our running game,'' . "Our offensive line is the same and at some point people will have to start recognizing how good it is. Messam did a good job (on Sunday). Ford changed things up and then Allen pounded in a couple of touchdowns. We have a three-headed monster right now.'' Rider defensive end Ricky Foley on the three man Rider running game

"It's about time we had something good happen for these men,"  "That being said, we dropped two touchdown passes, we fumble on the one-yard line. Thank goodness the defence played so well ... they gave us the opportunity to win the game."   TiCat coach Kent Austin on Hamilton's 13 - 12 win over Toronto

Winners of the first ever game in the Hamilton TigerCats new stadium opened September 1st.
