Travis Lulay, Mike Reilly, Darian Durant, Dan LeFevour, Zach Collaros, Thomas DeMarco and Troy Smith. Bo Levi Mitchell and Drew Willy joined the list on the weekend. Reilly and Collaras are back in the lineup and leading their teams. Mitchell may only miss one game while it is hoped that Willy will be back with the Bombers for their September 27th game,
But what about the old veterans. The Deans of the CFL quarterbacking club, Henry Burris of the Ottawa RedBlacks, Ricky Ray of the Toronto Argonauts and Kevin Glenn of the BC Lions have escaped serious injury thus far. Perhaps the young guys should be asking for their secret.
And forget about one of the old guys joining the Saskatchewan RoughRiders. Henry Burris says his heart is Ottawa and belongs to the RedBlacks.
"Because right now all it takes is one. We know the power of victory can change a lot of things. It can change your quality of life, to how you feel each and every day you step on the field. It can change the style of confidence that you have. And we need that. We need that boost of confidence." Henry Burris
"Henry is doing everything we're asking him to do," said head coach Rick Campbell. "He's battling hard, he's working hard, and we're trying to get better, him and everyone else on the offence."
So what that means to the Saskatchewan RoughRiders is that it will be Tino Sunseri starting against the Ottawa RedBlacks. He has his coaches confidence but really what else can Chamblin say considering his choices. Seth Doege, who has seen almost no CFL action or Keith Price who has seen none.
"I'm sure that's not the start he wanted, neither of us wanted" Chamblin said regarding Sunseri's performance. "That's a part of football. He'll get better, get back to the drawing board."
“I wouldn’t put anything on Tino," “There are 11 guys who are surrounding him out there. I don’t think consistently we had 12 guys on the same page and everyone was taking their turn getting beat or not completing their assignments. Brendan Labatte
I know Saskatchewan RoughRider fans don't like the guy, remember the mooning incident,
but there is a pretty good chance that Jon Cornish will win the CFL rushing title despite missing six games with an inury.
Cornish is now only sixty yards behind the Bombers Nick Grigsby.
