What's the brain/body implications of having a gut feeling?
What's the deal with probiotics and is it enough to just get them in my daily yogurt?
Why do I feel so mentally and emotionally drained when my gut is inflamed?
All these questions and more are covered in the international bestseller Gut: The Inside Story of Our Body's Most Underrated Organ. I recommend all my fellow Crohnies check it out!
The bad news....
Crohn's / IBD is only mentioned once. Sigh. I know. I'm as disappointed as you.
That's why recommending it means it has enough of substance to help Crohnies despite not getting into the dark and dirty of IBD.
Author Giulia Enders writes extensively of probiotics and prebiotics, and if you are not implementing both into your diet, get thee to the bookstore to read why they are critical for your health, with our without IBD but especially for those of us who suffer.
I also appreciate the author's easy to read style, which may have something to do with her being a 20-something penning her first book! No scientific mumbo-jumbo language. She writes as if sitting with the reader over tea. I even LOL'd a couple times!
Here is a link to an interview with the author.
Check it out, and let me know what you think!
Crohnies unite!
