The farmer did these people a favor if you think about it. They wanted to park on his land so eagerly and now they get to stay there for the long haul.

The only problem now is that his land is full of cars. Best case scenario is that the cars drop some seeds into the soil and grow other cars… but that's pretty unlikely.
