Walking has been one of the BEST things that I have made a habit of doing. Being outside with my boys gives me time to RECONNECT with God, with myself, with my boys....it is my HAPPY PLACE!

Now, I'm not saying it's easy to get out the door and go for a stroll with 2 kids in tow- but no matter how many diapers need to be changed before we get out the door, no matter how many fruit snacks and granola bars need to be taken to satisfy a wiggly toddler, and no matter how many times I get puked on by the baby in the carrier- IT'S WORTH IT!

Some of my favorite benefits of walking:

  • Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease-Which is HUGE for me since heart problems run in my family.
  • Improve blood pressure and blood sugar levels
  • Maintain body weight and lower the risk of obesity- Who doesn't want a trimmer waistline? I know I do!
  • Enhance mental well being- The endorphins I get from walking keep me coming back for more! My attitude after walking is so much more positive!
  • Reduce the risk of breast and colon cancer- Another HUGE one for me since my grandmother had breast cancer AND I have Crohn's Disease so am always concerned about digestive health.

SO- No that you know a little bit about WHY I walk, I have a challenge for you:
