A HUGE part of being able to reach our goals and be happy in life is LOVING OURSELVES.
When I was so sick with my Crohn's Disease I had a hard time respecting myself and seeing myself as anything but "sick".
I would get so down on myself that I would be self-destructive by eating horrible things that I KNEW would make me even sicker.
I didn't have any hope. I thought I would be this "sick girl" for the rest of my life and I all I wanted was to be "normal".
Then I read this book called "Operation Beautiful" by Caitlin Boyle. She talks about loving ourselves and others. She talks about how we ARE beautiful, we just need to see it ourselves and the HELP OTHERS see how beautiful THEY ARE.
For some reason it clicked and since reading this book I have been a lot more positive with myself. It still took a while, but after some healthy lifestyle changes and most of all some big ATTITUDE changes I actually FEEL BEAUTIFUL.
I still have to remind myself from time to time. Positive self-talk is a daily skill that will help you have a love for yourself.
Tell yourself that you are beautiful EVERY DAY. Because YOU ARE.
In order to change yourself, you need to LOVE YOURSELF.
YOU.ARE.BEAUTIFUL.
