Hello World, Fellow Crohnies!

I've had Crohn's Disease for twenty years, diagnosed in 1993 at the age of 13, but Crohn's Disease does not define who I am.  It is merely one part of the broader mosaic of my life - as a wife, daughter, world traveler, writer, yogi, and nonprofit worker.  During a recent flare-up of my disease, I delved back into online research and found two new truths:

  • There's a LOT of bad information out there.  It's like wikipedia spawned itself and has taken over the web.
  • Blogs are awesome!  While many are geared towards a particular diet or cooking for special needs (Crohn's/IBD, IBS, Gluten-Free, SCD, etc...), a catch-all blog for Crohn's seems few and far between.  My goal is to fill that void, particularly tailored to traveling with Crohn's and taking on the world, even during a flare.
I've traveled to more than twenty countries, including a 3-month solo backpacking jaunt across Europe.  Whether traveling to a developing country, or a road trip for work or pleasure, Crohnie Travels will be your go-to source for tips and strategies.
