A Salute to Tim Tebow
You just knew this was going to happen. Talk shows throughout North America, even here in
Saskatoon, have been full of Tim Tebow and his Christian stance and his approach to the game. Thankfully most of it has been positive. I not sure about some of the songs that have been penned including Jimmy Falloon's release which I think was intended to be sarcasitic and self promoting.
But you knew it would happen. The minute that Tim Tebow lost a game, as the Denver Broncos did last night, notice I said the Bronco's. Tim Tebow didn't lose the game. The Broncos did. But the minute it happened the morons, I'm sorry that's not Christian of me, filled the internet and the airwaves with "Tim Tebow, where is your God now.
Well Tim Tebow's God is still there. Always has been and always will be. You see God doesn't care who wins and loses a football game. He cares about the people who play the game, and that includes the Broncos, the Patriots, the 49er's, Tim Tebow and every single player in the National Football League. And Tim Tebow doesn't need me to speak for him but frankly I am disgusted with the negative publicity this man receives.
Yes Tim Tebow kneels in prayer prior to a football game. I will be almost positive, given the character of this man, that he is praying not that he would win the football game, but that he would play to the best of his abilities, that he and his team-mates and probably even his opponents would be kept free from injury. And yes he prays after a big play, giving thanks and what's wrong with that.
I work in the world of advertising and I pray each day that God would assist me in sales, that he would help me meet my commissions and goals and in 31 years he always has. If I have a bad week or a bad publication, do I say "Where is my God now? No because God gives us the good with the bad and more importantly he gives us a mind where we can choose good from bad and right from wrong.
On the positive side many newspapers have written about the charity work that Tim Tebow does on being half of the National Football League, Christianity and his faith, and this man is a tremendous ambassador for both.
So slacken off doubters, relax Christianity critics, Tim Tebow didn't win the Super Bowl this year
but everyday he wins the bigger picture. Serving God and his faith and in the process helping many less fortunate along the way. Life is bigger than a Super Bowl and Tim Tebow stands tall in life.
