Mathew 6:34
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.

I Peter 5:7
Cast all your anxiety upon Him
Because he cares for you

God's word is pretty clear.  He will take care of us.  He will help us through some anxious and trying situations.
But it is also clear that there are some things we need to do as well.

1) Do Not Worry - easier said then done for a perpetual worrier and it is one I struggle with all the time.  When going through the valley of depression in 2010  I lost track of the number of people who would tell me - What do you have to worry about ?  You have nothing to worry about !   Well obviously I did or I wouldn't have been in that dark place at that particular time.

2) Cast all your anxieties upon him - again that is easier said than done.  The human reaction is to try and solve our problems on our own and there is nothing wrong with that.  But when the problem doesn't resolve or go away and when we allow worry and anxiety to take over we are headed for real problems.  I like the next verse which starts out make up your mind not to worry

3) We must Rely on Jesus
Luke 21: 14 & 15
But make up your mind not to worry before hand how you will defend yourselves
For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or
contradict.

So the big step when facing any problem is to number one make up your mind that you are not going to worry about it.  Now there is a huge difference about having a concern for a problem and making up your mind not to worry about it.   You can take steps to fix the problem and you should but the key here is not to become bogged down by it.

4) We must Pray
Philippians 4: 6 & 7
Do not be anxious about anything but in every situation with thanksgiving present your requests to God
And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in
Christ Jesus

As we end this series on anxiety I like the words I believed were penned by gospel singer Jake Hess in this song.   Wore Out

You come home at night sit down for a bite
And you're wore out (wore out)
You're hardly able to get up from the table
'Cause you're wore out (wore out)
You crawl into bed sleep like you're dead
'Cause you're wore out (wore out)
In the morning you wake up can't seem to get up
'Cause you're wore out

When we get to heaven with jesus our king
We won't have to worry about any thing
We'll be happy and free
And our bodies won't be (wore out)

You get up on sunday dread to see monday
'Cause you're wore out (wore out)
You go sit in church your back starts to hurt
'Cause you're wore out (wore out)
The choir starts to sing but you can't feel a thing
'Cause you're wore out (wore out)
You pray the sermon and psalm won't last too long
'Cause you're wore out

When we get to heaven with jesus our king
We won't have to worry about any thing
We'll be happy and free
And our bodies won't be (wore out)

You go for a drive in the car with your wife
And it's wore out (the car that is)
She starts to worry tells you not to hurry
'Cause it's wore out (oooh - oh - oh)
You don't know where you're at one of the tires has gone flat
'Cause it's wore out (oooh - oh - oh)
From the sound of the motor we'll soon have to tow her
'Cause she's wore out (oooh - oh - oh)

When we get to heaven with jesus our king
We won't have to worry about any thing
We'll be happy and free
Nothing there will ever be (wore out)

We'll be happy and free
Nothing there will ever be (wore out)
